Kyma Restaurant
The design firm required help with a project involving suspending square and diamond colored medallions in front of a large window. The glass pieces needed to hang from the ceiling to the counter top in the bar area of this restaurant. We were able to develop a 1" thick slumped glass medallion with a thin yet strong wire running through it. We formed a loop on one end of the wire and a hook on the other side so that the medallions could be hung together to form a line of different glass shapes and sizes. We utilized Clear, Blue, Starphire, Solex, Blue 2000 (darker blue), and Azurlite glass to produce the colorful 2-1/2" to 4"-1/2" squares and diamonds. There were also several custom cast glass “Evil Eye” glass medallions made for this project. We named these glass medallions “KYMA” for the restaurant where they were installed.
